Actually from the 35Km 10 where on tarmac.
We got lost many times as the only guide was printouts from Google Earth.
Total time was 4h , about 2 hours riding ( since Helen took the 35mm Nikon FM2 SLR with her)

The last 4 day's I'm @ home burning from fever.
But this is nothing compared to the destruction of Parnitha mountain from a fire that went out of control for TOTALY POLITICAL reasons.
THERE IS TO MUCH ANGER (and fever) to say more but the following links are some of the actions already planed .

The setup looks very tidy (compared to my attempts to setup a wifi hot-spot in my roof), and the info very useful.

I was just about to turn back after 8km (thinking the 8Km to reach home) when I meet 2 guys from my neighborhood and folow them into the forest.
In the way back we managed to squeeze our selfs into a BMW Z4 and scratch the pour "truck" with the bikes.
Alex and Tasos thanks for the ride !

After a brief (on line) search I went and bought a new mountain bike.
Actually my "oder" bike was bought from my parents when I was in high school so I suppose that it doesn't count.
I also perused my girlfrient to get one.
This is the latest photo

Yesterday I got birthday present ! a Plantronics Pulsar 260 Bluetooth Stereo Headset
I didn't have the time to fiddle with it but I'm pretty impressed with it the A2DP works very well with my SE W710i in comparison to a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 that I tried from a friend that couldn't handle the transition from music playback to voice call.
Test cases to complete 1) connection to more than one phones 2) connection to the PC for Skype and DVD play back

The Fountain (2006)
Didn't like it , complicated , mixed , without a clear target to it's meaning.
The soundtrack is also said to be something special and for sure has a contribution to the movie atmosphere but it's not enough.

Can we count the new episodes of Lost as the last night movie ?
I'm not (I think) hooked on it but I do want some answers from this series.
Also I'm not sure if they will provide the answers but up to now the series has kept our attention. Probably has something to do with watching them downloaded with no interruptions/commercials.
Ok I'm a bit techno freak ….
The V360 had 1, only one, problem (after all these firmware updated) that was bothering me and it couldn’t be solved with a monster pack or a seem edit.
It didn't have a radio!
So I was looking around but all the phones that meet the requirements were to expensive but then I found an add on www.myphone.gr for a nice SE W710i so I grab it !
The normal street price of the phone is 100 E more than what a V360 or a L7 is asking so the difference is obvious but still the value/money of the little moto is still unbelievable.
Of course I'm not throwing away the 360...

lofiadm -a /export/temp/software.iso /dev/lofi/1
The lofi device creates a block device version of a file. This block device can be mounted to /mnt with the following command:
mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/lofi/1 /mnt
These commands can be combined into a single command:
mount -F hsfs -o ro `lofiadm -a /export/temp/software.iso` /mnt

Nokia Siemens Networks is live at the 3GSM World Congress.
Apart from the nice logos bla-bla focus to the bla-bla customer this merge-join venture-shell (I really don't know how to call it) has effect ,good or bad, on more than 50.000 people (and me :) ) and their families all over the globe.
NOW THIS IS GLOBAL ECONOMY.
I also liked a part from the first magazine publication:
Analyst Shiv K. Bakhshi, Ph.D. has an advice for network providers and their vendors: “They should stop the meaningless search for killer applications. Personalization, which is the underlying premise of successful mobile data services, requires providers to meet the varied information needs of individuals. Instead, they need to build a ‘killer environment’ that can support different kinds of applications.”
As an engineer I'd love to build the environment , as a customer I'm not sure that I'll be able to afford it !

Laberinto del Fauno, El (2006)
aka "Pan's Labyrinth" - (English title)
Nice, good atmosphere, pictures, no special meaning or message.
It's a pity to compare it with the Das Leben der Anderen , as it will lose hands down IMO

"Do you want to know exactly what hardware is in your PCs ? What software is installed ? What are the Serial Numbers ? When was it installed ? What "Other" devices are out there on your network ?"
YES I DO !
So does my boss !
Windows Inventory is my friend.
This is the main screen with 747 systems scanned.
Setup is actually very simple as long as you have a box with the usual web staff (apache, php, sql).
Of course you need admin rights for the scan which is based on vb scripts but they are there for free and you can fiddle as much as you like.
What I liked the most is the structure of the data base I'd really like to have it "merged" with our Nagios db ....someday
Credits to my German colleague Mr. Birkl !
/usr/atria/bin/cleartool setview ccadmin_unix <<EOT
/usr/atria/bin/cleartool lshis -since yesterday.15:15 hello > /tmp/notify_hello$$.txt
if test -s /tmp/notify_hello$$.txt
mailx -s "+++++ Recent hello Updates +++++" panagiotis.hatzigiannis@XXX.com < /tmp/notify_hello$$.txt
rm -f /tmp/notify_hello$$.txt
It sure need to be "polished" but does the job.

I'd be happy if only these were the things that can go wrong with CC .....
Δευτέρα, Ιανουαρίου 15, 2007
You can find here a vary useful explanation of the server processes used from CC.
The issue that we had in my company setup was with the usage of licenses when the view server and the client used different license servers.
In this case the view_server process will also acquire a license so we had double license usage.
There is no solution to this issue ( or I don't know any) !

Deleting a Replica
This section describes how to remove a replica. You must complete all steps; if you do not, synchronization and mastership problems can occur in other replicas in the family. When you remove a replica, the replicas in its family stop tracking epoch numbers for that replica. Removing a replica does not delete the VOB database. Removing a replica requires two synchronization cycles: one to transfer mastership of all of the replica’s objects to another replica, and one to inform all other replicas that the removed replica is no longer participating in the update process. Because this information can be communicated only through the synchronization process, you cannot remove a replica at its own site, because doing so prevents the replica from creating update packets.
After a replica is removed from a family, it no longer participates in synchronization activities and MultiSite information is not tracked. The replica no longer updates its oplog, and you cannot transfer mastership of any object in that replica.
Note: If a VOB replica is deleted mistakenly and you want to restore it frombackup, see Restoring and Replacing VOB Replicas on page 198. If a VOB replica’s storage directory is lost and there is no backup, see Cleaning Up After Accidental Deletion of a Replica on page 204.
In this scenario, the replica tokyo in the VOB family \tests is being removed.
1 At the site of the replica to be removed, complete all development work in the replica and use lscheckout or the Find Checkouts tool (Windows) to verify that all checkouts are resolved in the replica to be removed:
SHINJUKU> cleartool lscheckout –all \tests
(no output means no checkouts)
2 Transfer mastership of all objects to another replica.
At the site of the decommissioned replica, transfer mastership of all objects it masters to another replica. If the decommissioned replica is not self-mastering, transfer mastership to its master replica. If the replica is self-mastering, you can
choose any replica. In this example, the administrator determines which replica masters tokyo, and
then transfers mastership to the master replica (in this example, sanfran_hub):
SHINJUKU> cleartool describe –fmt "%[master]p\n" replica:tokyo@\tests
SHINJUKU> multitool chmaster –all –long sanfran_hub@\tests
Changed mastership of versioned object base \tests
Changed mastership of all objects
The replica that receives mastership can later transfer mastership to other replicas.
If mastership is not transferred for all objects, you must fix the problem and reenter the chmaster –all –long command. For an example, see Transferring Mastership of All Objects Mastered by a Replica on page 138. If there are problems you
cannot fix, another replica can recover from the error by assuming mastership of the objects.
3 Export and send an update packet from the decommissioned replica.
The decommissioned replica must send its final changes, including checkins and mastership changes, to the replica receiving mastership. The decommissioned replica can broadcast its final changes to all other replicas, but it must update its
master replica (sanfran_hub in this example).
SHINJUKU> multitool syncreplica –export –fship sanfran_hub@\tests
Generating synchronization packet c:\Program
- shipping order file is c:\Program
Attempting to forward/deliver generated packets...
-- Forwarded/delivered packet c:\Program
4 Import the update packet at the replica that is (or will become) the master of the
GOLDENGATE% multitool syncreplica –import –receive
Applied sync. packet
to VOB /net/goldengate/vobstg/tests.vbs
5 At the master replica, remove the decommissioned replica.
GOLDENGATE% multitool rmreplica tokyo@/vobs/tests
Deleted replica "tokyo".
6 At the master replica, export and send an update packet to the remaining replicas
in the VOB family.
This update packet notifies the other replicas of the replica removal.
GOLDENGATE% multitool syncreplica –export –fship replica-names
Generating synchronization packet ...
7 At the removed replica, remove the VOB storage directory of the removed replica.
SHINJUKU> cleartool rmvob \\shinjuku\vobs\tests.vbs

For the last year I use daily a motorola V360 v(odafone).
After a couple of months I removed the vodafone live links following guides from HowardForums
The next move was to flash the phone using a monster pack, but by then the Greek Motorola Modding Community site was up and running and the guys have an excellent reference site with LOT'S of guides, files and friendlily support , the same guys can be found in the best Greek mobile phone forum MyPhone .So I first used on the MS packs from GRMoto but I then flashed the poor litle v360 with a MS from Yuet . The v360 is up to now excellent and I can't really find a mobile with better features.
What I'm looking for is a mobile that :
1) Place/Receive calls !!!
3) MP3 playback
4) external storage
5) USB support
6) cost less than 200Euro
7) FM Radio
8) more eye caching design
is this possible ??
...probably no ! :(
